Justina la Cour, Lara Biancalana & Marina Saiki. Encounter and Impressions. Echoes of Light

As part of the new concert series by Justina la Cour, three emerging artists present the newly launched platform of the series “Dornonville Soloists” —cellist Lara Biancalana, violinist Justina La Cour, and pianist Marina Saiki—come together in anticipation of their debut in Sydney in the Fall 2026 Each brings a distinct voice, yet together they form a shared musical language—intimate, searching, and alive. The first part unfolds as a series of encounters. At its center lies The Encounter by Tōru Takemitsu—a work of suspended time and fragile presence. Around it, contrasting worlds emerge: the elemental perspectives of Julian Gargiulo, the luminous lyricism of Carl Nielsen and Rued Langgaard, and the emotional depth of Guillaume Lekeu. In the second part, the music opens into dialogue. The trio by Lili Boulanger unfolds in shifting colors and delicate textures, while the sonata by Maurice Ravel brings clarity, rhythm, and refined intensity. From solitude to connection, from stillness to movement, this program traces a journey of encounters—inviting the listener into a space where each moment feels immediate and alive.
